It’s not very often I have a free Saturday. A Saturday with NO plans, no agenda, no responsibilities. In fact, in the last 5 months, I have had five and a half of them. So last Monday or Tuesday, a good friend of mine, Michael Baxley, asked if anyone was free Saturday and wanted to shoot with him. First instinct? Sleep instead. After those two seconds of college-mindset slacked off, I shot him a FB message, text, @reply and DM, all saying, “Hey man, if you’re up for it, I’d love to second shoot for you.”
I’m SO glad he agreed to let me tag along. Hamilton and Rachel’s Hot Springs, Arkansas wedding was absolutely nothing short of phenomenal. It took place completely out on a farm under an incredible tree. Guests pulled up the winding drive lined with mason jars containing oil candles. When you got to the top of the drive and parked, there was “Ol Blue” the truck, decorated to the T with rustic amazingness, and lots of Baxley’s art. In the barn was the increditastic four part wedding cake, a bar, and some really neat artwork. Guests sat on hay bales and in antique chairs as Hamilton and Rachel tied the knot. The reception had some of the most amazing food, music, and bonfires (complete with a “Smores Bar”) that I’ve ever seen.
All that to say, before you check out a single one of the shots I took, do me a favor and go look through ML Baxley’s website. Michael, thanks for letting me tag along!
