So today was a big day at the Walker House! We have a wall dividing our kitchen and dining room, and we’re ready for it to come down!! Luckily, we had some helping hands to do the grunt work and some really smart and gracious friends to look it over and give their wisdom on it. This weekend, our goal was to take the wall down and just leave it unfinished. Mission accomplished.
First off in this post, we have some mock ups Emma created for me (because I can’t “see it” like she does) that’ll show what we’re hoping this eventually turns into!

View from the sink to the front of the house. Shelving will replace the current oven location, and we are putting a bar where the wall once was.

The oven moves over and cabinets are replaced by open shelving.

Before Demo. On the other side of that wall is our kitchen.

And so it begins.

Drywall, backsplash, and cabinets all gone!

A little sawsall fun and we have our sight lines.

And here’s some Maisy.
