Some of you may remember Kylie, one of my 2011 seniors! A few weeks ago, her mom contacted me and asked if I’d be able and willing to help out with a charity event she was chairing. During that conversation, I didn’t know much about the cause, I didn’t know much about the event, but I knew a date, a time, and had a deep conviction that I was supposed to be a part!
So, I started doing my research on The Centers for Youth and Families, the organization affiliated with the event. I brought my memoryBOOTH setup out, and they had a custom backdrop made just for the occasion! As people walked in for the fashion show, they were able to take their free “Red Carpet Photo.”
If you were at the event, you’re now able to click the link below and order a print of your photo. For every print sold, a donation will be made to The Centers.
But first, here’s a little write up about the event, as well as a video with a little more information about The Centers.
For the past 22 years, Centers for Youth and Families has collaborated with Dillard’s for an annual charity fashion show. This year, we celebrated our 23rd annual show on Sunday, April 17th at Argenta Community Theater. The theme was ‘Springtime in Paris’ and guests were treated to an exciting runway show featuring the latest spring fashions, courtesy of Dillard’s. Barry Thomas was also in attendance and painting a portrayal of the event in live action!
Proceeds from the event benefitted the Bess Chisum Stephens Community Center. The Community Center is the most recent program to join The Centers and provides a facility for all ages of our community to stay active. In addition to Silver Sneakers and Ballroom Dancing, our services have expanded into the community with land-based and pool-based classes for all ages. Activities include aerobics, dance classes, various aquatic classes, fitness equipment, zumba, arthritis tai chi, step classes, and many other services. The Community Center also features a Social Area where guests can enjoy a library and games while they visit with friends.
Centers for Youth and Families is the oldest, continuously-operating non-profit in the state of Arkansas. The Centers provides an age-appropriate comprehensive continuum of care for children ages 3 to 20. Centers for Youth and Families’ mission is to provide specialized prevention, intervention, and treatment services that promote emotional and social wellness for children and families of Arkansas.

AJW – Awesome post and pics. Thank you so much for being our fantastic paparazzi. It was great to meet you IRL. It will be nice to recognize you at church now – that is – whenever you trek all the way back to LR. 🙂
