For the four of you who noticed (hi, our parents), the site looks different! It changed for a few reasons, so we wanted to take a second and say why.
The original site was designed as more of a website portfolio for Austin’s photography and Emma’s freelance design work. But…we were really…really…really bad about updating it, so it just looked like we weren’t doing anything.
It was great for what it was, but then Austin really did quit doing photography commissions. Between renovating the house, doing graduate (and hopefully soon, post-graduate) schoolwork, being a husband, being a dad, and being a pastor, there just wasn’t enough margin to also do photography well. As a result, the site just sat around, but about every month Austin would still get inquiries (even though the page said that was no longer an option).
We also wanted a place to post some photos, etc., to document our family adventures once Maisy was on the scene. BUT, a design business’s website felt like a weird place for that, and it was too busy.
So we revamped the site to make it a family blog to match Austin’s site! Hopefully it’s easier to navigate, actually responsive to your browser, and less cluttered.
So feel free to subscribe to email updates below, hit us up on our social media, follow austin on snapchat (@austinjwalker), or anything else to keep up with our lives. We’ll see how long this blog stays active, but we’re hoping to make it a bit.
