J+K {WEDDING}

September 10, 2010

Josh and Kristy got married in Olive Branch, MS on August 14, 2010 at Longview Heights Baptist Church! I was so pumped to be able to go back to my old stomping grounds and get to shoot a wedding for a family I’ve loved since I first met them! Granted, between spilling coffee, throwing flarp, and a few other bumps and bruises, they were definitely going out on faith trusting my ritual Curbow Family Clumsiness, everything turned out spectacular. It’s always surreal to be able to go back to somewhere I used to call home. To those of you who I didn’t get to see this weekend, I apologize. I wish it would have worked out to see everyone, but after Josh and Kristy left their reception, I made the drive to Little Rock to get ready for church the next day!

A cool part of their wedding I hadn’t seen before was the unity cross (there’s pictures, don’t worry). Instead of a unity candle or sand or mixing water or another one of the ways used to signify two becoming one, they had a cross. The cross frame was to represent the strength of the man, and the ornate decoration was fastened inside it by three bolts, representing the beauty of a woman.

If you haven’t seen Josh and Kristy before, check out their incredible engagement pictures from when they came all the way to Little Rock to see the Barnards…and me!

Enjoy their wedding pictures, and comment at the bottom!

    Great work Austin, for some reason the dress picture really stood out to me something about the processing. Like the relaxed portraits also. Looks like it was a great couple and a fun shoot.

    Do you use any lighting for your weddings? The dress shot is really standing out to me, but I cannot figure out how you lit it for the life of me!

    This is seriously an amazing wedding shoot – love the ring shot + the first look pictures!
